While in one of the world’s most beautiful cities, make the most of your time and take in some of the unique local sights and attractions.
Singapore's jewel, Marina Bay, displays the city’s most spectacular side. With the rapid development of this cosmopolitan city-state, the entire Marina Bay area has undergone a transformation of epic proportions and is abundant with shopping, dining and nightlife. Arrive at Marina Bay at 8:00pm to see the spectacular daily light show, which illuminates the bay and its iconic landmarks.
Gardens by the Bay
Located next to Marina Reservoir, Gardens by the Bay offers breath-taking waterfront views. This multi-award winning horticultural destination spans 101 hectares of reclaimed land, and is made up of two main areas – Bay South Garden and Bay East Garden.
This luxurious colonial-style hotel has a long history dating back to 1887 and has become one of the most well-known landmarks in Singapore. The Raffles Hotel features 103 suites, 18 distinctive restaurants and bars as well as an arcade with over 40 boutiques and luxury brand stores. Most come for the Raffles Bar experience – the home of the Singapore Sling, where it was invented over 100 years ago.
National Museum of Singapore
Singapore's reimagined National Museum is good enough to warrant two visits. It is cutting edge and classical at the same time, as it departs from static exhibits and makes way for lively multimedia galleries that bring Singapore's colourful history to life. A journey spanning ancient Malay royalty, wartime occupation, nation-building, food and fashion. Look out for interactive artwork GoHead/GoStan: Panorama Singapura, which offers an audio-visual trip through the city-state's many periods. The museum's stained-glass neoclassical wing once housed the Raffles Museum and Library.
